Proactivity

Provision

Boys are told what not to become - but rarely shown what to become.
Becoming a Man offers a practical, principle-based path forward. Through guided practices, journaling prompts, and honest reflection, it helps boys develop emotional integration, self-awareness, grounded strength, and the capacity to lead with kindness rather than dominance.

A Shared Journey
“Manhood isn’t an arrival. It’s a lifelong practice”
It is a relationship to build.
You do not have to have all the answers.
Walk with him. Guide him. Believe in him. Help him become.
Helping raise a generation of grounded, emotionally healthy men.
I didn’t write Becoming a Man because I believe boys need to be fixed.
I wrote it because I believe they deserve to be supported and mentored.
For more than twenty years, I’ve spent my professional life helping physicians make life-changing medical decisions. Alongside that career, I’ve immersed myself in the study of human flourishing, emotional intelligence, trauma, secure attachment, embodiment, and what truly allows people to thrive.
But the greatest education of my life has been raising my two sons.
Like every parent, I’ve wrestled with questions that don’t come with a manual.
How do I help my boys become strong without becoming hardened?
How do I teach confidence without entitlement?
How do I raise men who know how to lead, love, protect, communicate, and remain deeply connected to themselves?
Those questions became an obsession.
Over the years, I read hundreds of books, attended countless trainings, earned a Master’s Degree in Happiness Studies, became a trauma-informed coach, and explored disciplines ranging from psychology and neuroscience to mindfulness, somatic practices, and emotional development.
What I discovered was surprising.
Most resources teach boys what to avoid.
Very few teach them who they are becoming.
That’s why I created Becoming a Man.
This workbook isn’t about perfection. It isn’t about outdated ideas of masculinity. And it certainly isn’t about telling boys who they should be.
It’s about giving them practical tools to become grounded, emotionally intelligent, courageous, responsible, and deeply authentic.
My hope is that every boy who works through these pages discovers that manhood isn’t something you stumble into with age.
It’s something you practice.
And my hope for every parent, mentor, teacher, coach, grandfather, or trusted adult is that this workbook creates conversations that might otherwise never happen.
Because boys don’t become great men alone.
They become great men through consistent guidance, meaningful challenge, honest reflection, and adults who choose to walk beside them.
If this workbook helps even one young man become a little more present, a little more courageous, and a little more aligned with who he truly is, then every hour spent creating it will have been worth it.
Thank you for being part of that journey.
